Unit Title:Β New Product Development
This unit caters as a special topics category in technology. It intends to expand teacher traineesβ knowledge and skills in technological practice which involve design and product innovation. It will offer teacher trainees with the opportunity to engage in research and device innovative technological products that meets a need and provides a solution to a problem or addresses an issue. Teacher trainees are going to plan, research, design, and make products using the knowledge they learn about designing. Further, the translation of their imagination into design and process will enable them to make products that can be beneficial to the society. One important aspect of this unit is research marketing, a process that enable finding market opportunities for innovative products in the society. Thus, New Product Development (NPD) as a special topic in technology that prepares teacher trainee to be creative in the teaching profession.
