Unit Title:Β Material Technology 2 β Metal
This unit offers knowledge and skills in metal fabrication and other industrial materials. The other industrial materials include; plastics, fabric and composite materials. The contents of this unit introduces the terminology used in describing the characteristics and properties of metals and the stated industrial materials. It also provides you with broad knowledge and skills required for working with metal and other industrial materials in constructing products used in Solomon Islandsβ context. It also provides hands on activities to enhance skills development in using tools and machines when working with metal and other industrial materials. The integration of various material in design project is also encouraged as composite materials projects by which students will adapt to using more than one materials and how best to incorporate them in a project. Hence, this unit offers the opportunity in knowledge and skills for teachers to prepare for the teaching profession.
