Unit Title:Β Transition to School
The purpose of the unit is to examine issues related to the history, philosophy, curricula and practices in early childhood education and the early school years. The unit will focus on childrenβs transitions β home to early childhood centre, then early childhood centre to primary school. The expectation and beliefs and teachers and parentsβ roles within the two education sectors will also be explored along with links between the two curricula. Student teachersβ transition from the school of education to beginning teacher will be also examined.
