The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) has successfully concluded a two-day Strategic Plan Implementation Workshop for Heads of School and Corporate Support Services, held from 16โ€“17 June 2026 at the Faculty of Education and Humanities, Panatina Campus.

The workshop marks the beginning of the implementation phase of SINUโ€™s Strategic Plan 2026โ€“2030, which was officially launched on 22 May 2026.

Opening the workshop, Pro Vice-Chancellor Corporate, Dr William Parairato, highlighted the critical role of senior staff in translating the Strategic Plan into action across the University.

โ€œYou have a critical role to play in implementing the Strategic Plan, cascaded plans, departmental plans, and work plans,โ€ Dr Parairato said.

He emphasised that faculties, departments, institutes, and support units will be central to achieving the Universityโ€™s strategic objectives over the next five years.

Dr Parairato noted that participants and their respective offices would serve as focal points for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on implementation progress, achievements, and challenges in collaboration with the Institutional Planning Division (IPD).

He also acknowledged the ongoing support of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), represented at the workshop, and thanked the organisation for its continued financial assistance to the Universityโ€™s planning and development initiatives.

Dr Parairato further recognised the contribution of Dr Jeannette Baird, IPD Advisor, for her significant role in supporting the development of the SINU Strategic Plan 2026โ€“2030 and the Universityโ€™s cascaded plans.

โ€œDr Baird has provided valuable guidance throughout the planning process and will continue to support us in strengthening monitoring, evaluation, learning, and performance measurement against the Strategic Planโ€™s key performance indicators,โ€ he said.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in discussions on strategic priorities, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, key performance indicators, and approaches to aligning departmental work plans with institutional objectives.

Dr Parairato encouraged participants to actively apply the knowledge and tools gained during the workshop to ensure the successful implementation of the Universityโ€™s strategic priorities and long-term vision.

The workshop concluded on 17 June 2026, marking an important milestone in SINUโ€™s efforts to strengthen institutional performance, accountability, and service delivery through effective strategic planning and implementation.
