Today, the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Faculty of Education and Humanities (FEH) proudly hosted a mini fashion showcase by Year 3 Bachelor of Home Economics students enrolled in HEC702: Clothing Management. The event highlighted the creativity and skills of students who co-designed the assessment with their lecturer Ms Grace Rohoana, embracing an approach that promotes student agency and collaborative learning in Home Economics.

The unit covers textile properties, innovation, and fashion studies, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical, innovative ways. The showcase featured a diverse range of fashion categories, including church wear, bridesmaid attire, bridal wear, formal wear, island wear, and business wear, reflecting both cultural influences and contemporary trends.

The event celebrated student creativity and highlighted SINUโ€™s commitment to experiential learning, preparing graduates for careers in home economics and related fields.
