SINU CNP conducts in-house training at SPOL

The Solomon Islands National University’s Centre for Productivity, Professional Development, and Life-Long Learning, trading as β€œCentre for National Productivity” (CNP) conducted its first of its kind In-House training for staff of the South Pacific Oil Ltd (SPOL) on 29th June 2020. A total of thirty-two [32] SPOL senior management staff participates in the 4-day in-house training on Customer Relation Management.

Speaking during the brief opening ceremony, Pro-Vice-Chancellor [Academic], Dr. Jack Maebuta stated that SINU Centre for National Productivity was established as a dynamic workforce Training Programs (WTP) section. By Law, SINU is tasked to; β€œimproving the skills and knowledge of the existing work forces through education and training,” stated in section 6a clause 11 of the SINU Act.

β€œWe aim to provide the best Professional and Community development short course training that will give a competitive edge needed at the workplace. Therefore, we exist to educate workforce through Industry demand-driven training Programmes that will contribute to sustainable economic, social, and environmental development,” said Dr. Maebuta.

Dr. Maebuta thanked South Pacific Oil Ltd, for giving CNP the opportunity, to provide custom-tailored training on Customer Service Management, specifically to meet SPOL training needs. β€œTo add to the custom-tailored trainings, CNP recruited top facilitators; that are qualified experts in a specific field and have industry experience, who used local knowledge, resources and man-power, backed by international best practices, to deliver our services for workplace professional development and up-skilling for interested personnel, such as the South Pacific Oil Ltd,” the PVCA highlighted.

Dr. Maebuta extends his gratitude to the hard-working team from CNP and SPOL for making the first in-house training possible.

South Pacific Oil Limited Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Carson Boyape Korowa stated that the training will enhance, empower, and build the capacity of supervisors and senior managers in the area of customer resource management. β€œSPOL will continue to support its supervisors and senior managers in their challenging leadership roles and definitely add value and benefit in their respective roles and also to the organization,” concluded the CEO.
