Unit Code: PHY602

Unit TitleEnvironmental Physics

The unit is all about the physics of the environment, in its widest term. The environments consists of the earth, (biosphere, soil, rock, water, air), the atmosphere and all forms of radiation. Students learn about aspects of the environment, particularly the interaction of the radiation with the earth and the atmosphere, and understand the relationships between these elements of the environment. The science of weather, climate and weather forecasting are also studied. Heat, energy and momentum transfers are studied and experiments are conducted to back up the theory.
