Overview
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Corporate (PVCC) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the University’s corporate functions, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor. As a key member of SINU’s Senior Executive, Senate, and University Council, the PVCC contributes to institutional decision-making and governance.The PVCC is a key Senior Executive Office within the University’s senior management team and is critical to the effective functioning of the University’s Corporate Strategy. The PVCC provides strategic leadership on key issues and oversees the work of key Directors and Managers responsible for progressing both the technical and corporate services and outcomes of the University. The PVCC has specific responsibilities for the direction, leadership and strategic oversight of key corporate areas.

Key Responsibilities
The PVCC provides leadership and strategic oversight for:
- Corporate planning, policy development, and alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan.
- Infrastructure, facilities, and ICT development to support University operations and growth.
- Revenue expansion through investments, commercial ventures, and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Security, safety, and risk management for University properties, staff, and students.
- Promotion and marketing of SINU’s initiatives, achievements, and the Arts Village.
- Development of on-campus services and fostering a collegial, inclusive culture.
- Collaboration with departments on projects, ensuring timely execution and effective resource use.
- Oversight of financial management, regulatory compliance, and staff development.
- Annual appraisals of Corporate Services Directors and Managers and reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and University Council.

Dr William Parairato
Dr. William Parairato brings a wealth of experience in corporate governance, management, and education to his role as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Corporate) at Solomon Islands National University (SINU). He earned a Ph.D. in Management and Public Administration with distinction from the University of the South Pacific (USP) in March 2020. His academic credentials also include a Master of Management from Massey University, New Zealand, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Public Administration from USP.
Dr. Parairato began his career in 1996 as a Lecturer in Business Studies at the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education (SICHE), now SINU. Over the years, he has held numerous senior leadership roles in both public and private sectors. These include serving as the Manager of Administration at the Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI) and Acting General Manager for the West Are’Are Constituency Shipping Community Company. In these roles, he provided strategic leadership, spearheaded institutional reforms, and ensured operational sustainability across various sectors.
From 2017 to 2019, Dr. Parairato served as Managing Director of Frontier Consulting Services, overseeing consultancy projects in business and public administration. He provided expert guidance in corporate governance and management across the Solomon Islands and the Pacific region. His professional contributions are complemented by a strong focus on finance, personnel management, and institutional development.
Dr. Parairato’s passion for teaching and mentoring is evident throughout his career. He has designed and delivered training programs emphasizing capacity building, human resource development, and corporate governance. In his academic roles at USP and SICHE, he has educated and inspired future leaders in business, economics, and management.
With his extensive background and dedication, Dr. Parairato continues to contribute to the growth of institutions and governance systems, advancing the development of the Solomon Islands and the Pacific region.
