New Program Launch – Postgraduate Certificate in Security Studies

Now Accepting Expressions of Interest for Semester 2, 2025

The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) is pleased to announce the launch of a new program under its School of Humanities: The Postgraduate Certificate in Security Studies, beginning in Semester 2, 2025.

This program is designed for professionals working in the Pacific security landscape, offering advanced knowledge in:

  • Transnational and organized crime

  • Environmental and human security

  • Intelligence and threat assessment

  • Public policy and regional security cooperation


🔍 Who Should Apply?

This program is ideal for:

  • Law enforcement and police officers

  • Border and immigration officers

  • Public servants and NGO professionals

  • Graduates of social sciences, law, or public policy


📥 Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A recognized undergraduate degree (Level 7) in a relevant field

  • A diploma (Level 6) plus 3 years’ relevant professional experience

  • Mature entry (23+) with at least 5 years of experience in law enforcement or government security (subject to interview)

📌 Applicants must also provide evidence of English proficiency (academic or professional).

📈 Selection is based on academic merit, work experience, motivation, references, and where necessary, an interview.
