Background


  • BHEM is developed as an academic, professional, practical and research-led qualification to meet the professional and skill needs of the tourism, hospitality and events industry and MICE market in the Solomon Islands.
  • BHEM degree provides a specialization/major in Meetings, Festivals, Conferencing and Events Management, which is the fastest-growing market segment in the Solomon Islands and Pacific Islands nations.
  • This Degree has no competition. Conferencing, Festivals and Events Management specialization qualification, is not available at any undergraduate Tourism and Hospitality Degree Programs in Fiji, PNG, Samoa or in the region.

Admission Requirements


  1. Form 7 Leavers with a High GPA 3 or “B” average or higher grades majors in Geography, English and Math
  2. Form 6 (year 12) leavers with a GPA 3, majors in Geography, English and Math will be an advantage
  3. SINU graduates with Diploma qualifications across all Faculties and Institutes with GPA 3
  4. In-service individuals from Ministries, private sector, NGOs, tourism and hospitality businesses operators, and Community Organizations. Recognition of prior learning and transferability of skills with a minimum of 3 years work experience
  5. South Pacific Region-graduates from regional Colleges, Tertiary Institutions and Vocational Training Providers with relevant diplomas and degree programs, with high GPA
