Celebrating Academic Excellence โ€“ Dr Trevor Chacha Awarded PhD

The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) is proud to announce that Dr Trevor Chacha has been formally awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by Mie University, a national university located in Tsu, Mie, Japan.

Dr Chacha is a specialist in Geospatial Science, a critical field that supports spatial planning, environmental monitoring, land-use analysis, climate resilience, and evidence-based resource management. His expertise strengthens national capacity in spatial analytics and contributes to data-driven decision-making, particularly in Small Island Developing States like the Solomon Islands.

Dr Chacha recently joined SINU as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. His knowledge and skills align closely with the Universityโ€™s priorities in natural resource management, forestry and agricultural systems, environmental assessment, and geospatial research and teaching.

Young academics such as Dr Chacha play a key role in driving institutional growth. They bring innovation, technical expertise, research energy, and global academic networks, enhancing SINUโ€™s teaching, research output, and postgraduate supervision capacity.
