The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) proudly announces a substantial financial contribution from the Government of India, amounting to SBD $1,261,193.38, for the rehabilitation of its Poitete Campus in the Western Province.

This generous donation marks a significant milestone in the advancement of forestry education and sustainable environmental practices in the Solomon Islands.

Professor Transform Aqorau, Vice Chancellor of SINU, expressed deep gratitude towards the Indian Government for their support, stating, “We are profoundly grateful to the Government of India for their generous contribution towards the renovation of the Poitete Campus.”

β€œThis support is not merely a financial gesture but a significant investment in the future of forestry education and management in the Solomon Islands.”

The Poitete Campus, renowned for its role in forestry training, is set to undergo extensive renovations, enhancing its capabilities as a leading institution in forestry education.

“Thanks to the assistance from the Government of India, we are now poised to enhance our educational facilities, thereby nurturing the next generation of forestry professionals who will play a crucial role in sustainable environmental stewardship,” added Professor Aqorau.
