Unit Title: Library Ergonomics
This unit includes twelve individual topics which will provide you with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of the physical aspect of library building and arrangements. You will be able to learn how to design a small-scale new library building, convert an available building, and ameliorate or add an extension to the available building. Overall, the student will be able to learn about library buildings and their monumentality by terms and definitions used in the planning process, the green building concept and sustainability issues towards small libraries, basic building considerations under flexibility, space planning, noise control, and lighting, ventilation and security measures.
