Unit Title: Introduction to Environment Economics

This course covers and provides an overview of the theory on environmental economics and its basic empirical applications. The course basically covers environment economic concepts and applications. As much as possible, this is put into the context of national situations. The course also provides other related broad areas which attempt to demonstrates how economic theory provides guidance to finding solutions to serious environmental problems such (e.g. global warming, ozone depletion, air and water pollution) at different scales (global, regional) etc. Relevant policies and legislations at the international, regional and national level are also covered.
