Mr Moses Virivolomo

Mr. Moses Virivolomo is a seasoned civil engineer with nearly four decades of service to the Solomon Islands Government. He spent 30 years with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and 8 years with the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, including 12 years as Permanent Secretary.

He has extensive expertise in transport planning, project and contract management, policy development, aviation, communications, water, and ports. Mr. Virivolomo played a key role in major national reforms, including the development of the first National Transport Policy, establishment of the National Transport Fund, transitioning government works to the private sector, and supporting the creation of the Solomon Islands Maritime Authority.

As Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, he led major infrastructure improvements, strengthened compliance, and supported the establishment of the Solomon Islands Airports Corporation Ltd. He currently oversees the construction of 161 telecommunication towers under the National Broadband Infrastructure Project, a transformative initiative expected to connect over 200,000 additional citizens, increase mobile penetration from 20% to 79%, and boost broadband coverage from 12% to 50% nationwide.

Mr. Virivolomo holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Central Queensland University (Australia, 1993) and a Master of Engineering (Transportation) from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand, 2009).
