This course intends to prepare Apprentice Carpenters who are able to perform block laying, painting and decorating, wall and floor tiling, installation of roof sheeting and reinforced concrete in the Building and Construction Industry. The Course focuses on theoretical instructions, demonstration and practical experience that supplement the on-site component of the apprenticeship training scheme. The training is further supported with units in Communication Skills, Trade Calculations and Trade Science. Aspects of basic building plan interpretation are also undertaken. The course helps an individual to be self confident, self supportive and can cope with the present and future trends in the building and construction industry in the Solomon Islands.
